Psalm 46:10 – Be still and know that I am God. I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
Have you ever been to a memorial where you are asked to pause for a moment of silence to remember and honor the person or persons who have died? This custom very likely came from the Bible verse quoted above. However, in God’s Word, it is not a tradition or custom to observe, it is a commandment.
“Be Still” is imperative: it can be stated as BE SILENT, and CEASE STRIVING.
So do that. Honor God with your silence, total attention focused on him.
Step One: Prepare yourself for his awesomeness by reading in his Word with reverence and attention.
Step Two: Prepare to know him by confessing your sin to God, asking his forgiveness in the Name of his Son, Jesus Christ.
Step Three: STOP everything, be quiet, open yourself up to the Lord. Know that he is God.
